DORSEY KREITZER and son have returned from Byron Springs, Cal., where Mr. Kreltzer is receiving treatment for his rheumatism. Wyman of tho United States Life Saving station, stepped on a loose board yesterday and the end of it flew up, striking him In the forehead. A gash necessitating six stitches was Inflicted Just above the eye. Dr. Housoworth who dressed tho wound says that the Injury will not affect the sight of the optic but Is likely to leave a bad scar. . Jinny Missed Stage. Missing a train Is not an unfrequent experlonco of railway travelers, but a dozen Marshfleld people had their first experlonco of missing a stage yester day morning. They were planning to go to tho Stato Fair at Portland and had been Informed that tho stage would leave nt 2:30 o'clock. They got up about midnight and slowly wonded their way to tho dock only to find thnt tho stngo had loft at 1:30, tho hour having boon chnng- cd. The opinions of tho stage lino J warmed up tho midnight air. Among tho number who missed tho stage wero Miss Cannon and Mrs. L, D. Pettljohn who Anally took tho train to Myrtlo Point whero they engaged-l a private rig for tho trip. ' WM. KLAHN and wife of Empire, will leave In a day or two for Portland, going thence to Los An geles where they will spend a few weeks In hopes of benefitting their health. KNOWLTON, the well-known Coquille druggist and business man, passed through hero today en route home from a business trip to San Francisco and Dewitt, Cal. He was accompanied by his sons, Owen and Clay, who have been spending the summer at tho homo of an uncle in Dewitt. AL. SMITH of Coos River, left this morning for Roseburg on a busi ness trip. Ho was persuaded to buy a tlckot over the Coos Bay wagon road by tho very affable agent, Otto Schettor. Al Intended to walk out but the glib agent portrayed so vividly tho sconlc grandeurs of his route that Mr. Smith was convinced thoro was nothing so picturesque in any other part of tho world, so ho bought two tlckots for himself, fearing ono would not be sufficient to carry him through this glorious panoramic route.
