IRVING SMITH of North Bend, Is visiting Mrs. Frank Rog ers on Coos River. Hand Gives Concert. The Acme Band give the first of a series of open air concerts on Front street Saturday evening. Enjoy Social The Baptists Young People's Union held their regular monthly meeting and social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Wat kins Friday evening. The event was well attended and a very pleasant evening was enjoyed. The lawn was beautifully decorated with Japanesp anterns for the occasion and after Mie program was concluded, refresh ments were served. MRS. Mr. Rotnor's parents live at Corona do but formerly lived on Coos Bay, Mrs. Rotnor having been a teacher in the old Marshfield Academy many years ago. The many friends of the family will hopre for her early recov ery. Mr. Rotnor Will be absent about two weeks. MRS. J. ALBERT MATSON and son, have returned from a visit with Mrs. Matson's mother, Mrs. Kruso, on Isthmus Inlet. Mrs. Ada Sharpe of North Bend, will leave tomorrow for Walla Walla, Washington, where she owns somo property which she expects to dis pose of while there. Capt. A. M. Simpson, who has been making a business trip north, returned todny on the Alliance from Portland and will remain in North Bend for a short time.
