A large numbor of Marshfleld and North Bend young people wont to Sumner Saturday evening to attend the dance. They report a largo crowd, good music and a very enjoyable time. Find Mineral Spring. Residents of Ten Mile claim that a spring of mineral water has been discovered near there. It is proposed to have analysis made of it to determine whether It has any medicinal prop erties. Sewage System Meeting. A moot ing of the property owners of South Marshfleld will be held at the city hall at 8 o'clock this evening to dis cubs the proposed sewage system for that section of trfe city south of Mills Slough. Dredgu Fund Secured. It, iSj an nounced that the dredge fund has been secured with a neat sum addi tional. A few subscriptions are still being taken and the money placed in the bank so as to be ready as soon as the government desires to use lt. Young Couple Weds. Valno Payarl and Miss Fannie Rasmussen wore united In marriage at tho Luth eran parsonage today by the Rev. B. F. Bengston. The groom is empoyed in tho C. A. Smith mill and the bride is tho daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mats Rasmussen of Beaver Hill. Two Parties Get Deer. According to latest reports, only two Marshfleld hunting parties succeeded In getting deer. J. W. Bennett, Tom Bennett, Dr. Bowers and James Polhemua got four near the Gould ranch, on Coos River, and yesterday Chas, HIekox killed one on Isthmus Inlet. Strnwherry Luncheon. Mr. and Mrs. James Scott, Sr entertained n small party of friends at a strawber ry luncheon at their homo In Glenn Gardens, Saturday ovenlng. The evening was spent pleasantly with music and social converse until a late hour when a delightful straw boryy luncheon was sorved. Brothers Are Reunited. Council man Frank Sacchl is enjoying a visit from a brothor, Rocco Sacchl, whom ho had not seen for twenty-two years until Saturday when tho latter walk ed Into his store. JOHN 'ELLIOTT, a "lfrggar at Pony Slough Camp, had his toe badlr cut with an ax. He was taken to tho Mercy hospital and is getting along nicely. CAPT. HARRIS of Sumner, was a Marshfleld visitor today. Every thing is going quietly at Sumner, he says. A numbor of now build ings are being erected. W. J. BUTLER and wife, are spend ing a few weeks on the Wirth ranch, "Millicoma," for tho bene fit of Mr. Butler's health which has been rather poorly for the la3t few months. F. A. HAINES and wife, arrived to day from Deadwood, S. D., with a view of locating on Coob Bay. Mr. Haines Is a brother of A. T. Haines who recently came Oklahoma. from F. E. HAGUE, L. A. LUJeqvlst, W. G. McPherson and Miss Mary Black were among the guests at an over Sunday house party at the sum mer home of Dr. J. T. McCormac, on Coos River. MRS. IDA MANNON and daughter, MMs Ethel of Harveysburg, Ohio, are guests at the homo of her cou sin. W. E. Warwick, in Marshfleld. They are on a general western tour but will spend a good portion ot the summer here. W. J. CONRAD nnd Clate Schooley returned today from a week's deer hunt In Curry county. J. Doylo who accompanied them remained there for a few days more sport. They declaro that the three killed eight. America, Rocco following later. With Mr, Sacchl came Theo. Marcollo, a nephew. The latter Is a son of Frank Marcollo who was formerly engaged In business in Marshfield but who moved from here to San Francisco six years ago. Tho Marcollo family is now residing at Richmond, Cal. Form Oil Company. It is an nounced that R. F. Crittenden, Dr. O'Day and Chas. WInsor of North Bend have formed a stock company to prospect for oil on South Slough. An effort will probably be made to Interest others in order that the test to determine whether or not there Is oil in this section will pral1 abjy be made.
