Luse on South Coos River yesterday was slightly damaged by Are, originating In the roof evidently from a spark from the chimney. OLSON of Washburn, Wis., Is In the city as the guest of his old friend, O. O. Lund. Mr. Lund for merly resided at Washburn before he responded to the "Call of Coos Bay." Mr. Olson has been In tho furniture business nt Washburn for twenty years but Is now In search of a new location. He is very much pleased with Coos Bay. NORTH BEND NEWS Mrs. R. DeMoro and daughter, Na talia, have returned to San Fran cisco after a short visit at the home, of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. James. Frank Grainger, formerly con nected with ten Ten Mile Creamery but now located at Seattle, Is In North Bend visiting his daughter and tho Byler family. Cards have been received In North Bend announcing the marriage of Miss Amanda Jacobs and John V. Hago at Taylor, Wis. Mr. Hage and his parents formerly resided on Coos Bay and has many friends here who will join In the felicitations. Margaret, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Simpson, is re ported to be critically 111 of tho mumps. The family are having trou bles of their own on acpount of 111 health, Mrs. Simpson having been ill for several weeks from a gathering in the head. Mr. and Mrs, Gulovson of South Marshfield, were entertained at din ner Wednesday by Mr. and Mrs Rob ert McCann of North Be,nd. The Gulovsons will leave, next Tuesday for Portland to make their future home. Mr. Gulovson was thirty two years In tho employ of the E, B.
