Walter Condron and family have moved from Cali fornia street into the Marsdon house on Pino street. Will Go to California. Joseph Ferry who sold his store at Riverton to J. C. The body of Tom Cook, the North Bend saloon man, who died last week, Is still hold at the morgue of Temple and Mangan pending advices from relatives of the deceased at Napa, Cal., concerning what they wish done regarding tho funeral. FRED DENTZ has returned from a several months stay In California and Nevada and expects to remain here sometime visiting his mother, Mrs. Lizzie Dentz, and his sister, Mrs. L. W. Planz of Eastside. MISS ALDA CANNON, bookkeeper for the Pettyjohn-Nlcols Company Is expected home the latter part of tho week from Salem where sho has been visiting relatives for sev eral weeks. THE MANY friends of Chas. Mahaf- fy of North Coos River, will read with regret that his brother, Mr. Robert Mahaffy, a visitor from St. Louis, Mo., is Indisposed by reason of partial paralysis of the left side, arm and limb, everything seems favorable to his early recovery. A Pleasant Evening. Among the Marshfield lovers of the dance who attended the ball given by the Coos Bay Orchestra at the Eckhoff Hall, North Bend, Saturday night, were Jas. Estes, Eddie Archer, Billy Cary and Earle Murneham who report a very pleasurable evening. Tnjur.'os Proves Troublesome. F. C. Burch, the popular young pharmacist at the Red Cross phar macy, is laid up today as a result of complications from the acid burn he sustained to his hand several days ago. That the Injury will not prove serious is the wish of his many friends. Coats Funeral Held. The funeral of Thomas Coats, the young ;nan who died at the General hospital Saturday following an operation for appendi citis, was held yesterday, tho Rev. D. W. Thurston officiating. It is possible that the body will be moved later to his old home in Shannon county, Missouri. REV. FATHER DONNELLY will leave in a day or two for a two weeks visit to Portland and other northern points. The Rev. Father Curley will officiate here during his absence, holding mass at North Bend next Sunday at 8 o'clock and In Marshfield at 10:30. The Rev. Father Donnelly expects to bo home by tho following Sunday. MRS. M. J. MANGAN and baby aro expected here within a few week3 from Belle Plain to join Mr. Man gan who recently engaged In tho undertaking business here. Mr. Mangan hopes to have his new home all prepared for them when they arrive. Mrs. Mangan's broth er, who is a bank cashier, may accompany her here for a visit and also to Investigate the possibilities of the Coos Bay country with a view of locating. Thurston of the Baptist church, and Attorney J. L. Smith will go to Bandon today to speak in behalf of prohibition. Tho Rev. Thurston expects to make speeches almost daily at different points in tho county until the election, two weeks from today. Takes Hoffman to Prison. Sheriff W. W. Gage of Coquille, passed through Marshfield today on route to the Oregon state penitentiary with Fred Hoffman, tho Myrtle Point man who was convicted of burning a brother's barn. Bon Mer chant who has been at tho hospital several weeks suffering from copper poisoning has been removed to tho Merchant homo. Ho had a slight relapse after the removal but It Is hoped that ho will rapidly recupor nte now. He contracted tho peculiar ailment as a result of his long work in tho mines. It has affected his organs of speech and It is very dif ficult for him to talk. Mlllicoina Club Picnic. Tho House Committee has Issued announ cements of a picnic to bo held ex clusively for the members at Char leston Bay Sunday, May 24. A launch or launches will bo chartered to take tho members out and bring thorn back. A picnic dinner will be arranged for all and a program for tho day's diversion also made up. Tho services wero largely attended and very Im pressive, Fitting decorations added to tho beauty of tho event. The school baru has selected B. F. Dllloy as architect for the propos ed $40,000 school building. Tho bonds wero sold at a premium to Morris Bros, of Portland, tho money will soon be placed In tho hank for use.
