Traveling men who cover Coos county are nonplussed, almost dis gusted, over the lack of uniformity in the time pieces in the towns in this section. Trains and boats are miss ed, resulting in the use of harsh words than have ever been used In condemning a "Waterbury." According to tho allegations, North Bend time is about fifteen minutes slower than Marshfleld time; Coquille time is fifteen or twenty minutes different than Marshfleld time; Myr tle Point and Bandon time differs from the three other towns. Only a few timepieces or regulator in the various towns are operated by wire. The Western Union receives the cor rect time dally at 12 o'clock, noon, but, according to the traveling men, few of the jewelers pay any heed to It. "You can't imagine how difficult it makes the lot of the traveling man," remarked W. C. Bradley, a well known Coos Bay traveler. "We try to cover our territory as rapidly as possible and at the same time to spend as much time with our cus tomers as convenient. Wo look a our watches, find that we have fifteen minutes to make a boat or a train. We wait until about five minutes of the schedule time and start to set 1,3 aboard. On arriving there, wo find that tho boat or train pulled out ahead of schedule, according to our time piece which was probably set by a regulator in a town other than lir. .., i mi- ii. i, i.
