Mr. Goldlo Is said to be an expert In the concoction of liquid delights and already has in vented a new one that will be know a as the Milllcoma Morning Glory that will drive the cobwebs from the brain like the mist dissolving before a Coos Bay sunrise. Receives New Whistle The huge siren fire whistle ordered by the city council some months ago, arrived on tho Breakwater yesterday morning consigned to the Pioneer Hardware company, of this city. The whistle has an eight-inch bell and will be one of the largest on tho entire coast. It will require a three-inch steam pipe to supply the whistle In order that its resonant tones may be played to their utmost. It will be put in place on top of the electric lighting plant, which will furnish the steam for tho fire warning. Judging from the appearance of the whistle, which Is causing considerable Interest, it will let tho whole country know when there Is a fire In Marshfleld. Falls Into Tho Cay The story Is told in the city that Dr. McCormac and his son were out shooting on Christmas Day on the lower part of tho bay, when they saw a flock of "butterballs." In order to got within range, tho doctor backed his launch on a mud flat, and It took several hours to got tho craft off as tho tide was running out. It is claimed that ho doctor seized a pole and began pushing tho boat oft the boggy bot tom, which was covered with two feet if water. He pushed so hard that tho polo suddenly snapped,' al lowing him to measure his length in in tho slough. It is said that ho then waded around and Anally pushed tho craft Into deop water. What hap pened afterward could not bo learned. ACTIVITY IN KAY PARK. I Notwithstanding tho lainy weather there are a number of cosy dwellings under construction in Bay Park.
