.r-j if ii' Nit I -If ' Tommy McCormack and Frank Stangland are expected home tomorrow night. A. C. Sanford returned from Bend Monday morning, having spent several days with his fam ily there. Dr. H. B. Haile left the early part of the week for The Dalles and Portland on a business trip and to visit with his brother at the latter place. Mr. Mrs. Jerry Barber, former residents of the Culver country, passed through Madras the latter part of the week to visit with Mrs. Barber's parents at Prine ville, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Win down. James Rice of Haycreek came over Sunday afternoon to meet Mr. B'arz, one of the persons in terested in the Baldwin Sheep Personal and Local Carl McGhee spent the early part of the week at Prineville. R. F. Armstrong of Lamonta was down from his ranch Satur day. J. S. McCoin of Gray Butte was a business visitor in Madras Monday of this week. R. M. Morris of Trail Crossing was a business visitor in Madras Tuesday of this week. J. T. Robinson of Culver was a business visitor in Madras the latter part of the week. H. L. They re S. D. Percival and wife were turned to Haycreek Monday 'in from their ranch at Gateway ! morning. G. V. Stanton bought two car loads of alfalfa at Redmond last week. Good alfalfa is one of the scarce articles in this locality this year and the Redmond farmers have had no trouble in disposing of their crop. Belle Jone3, the young girl who was sent to the state asylum at Salem a nervous wreck a cou ple of months ago came home yesterday evening much improv ed in health. She has gone to her home at Grizzly. Wm. Brownhill one of the old ' timers on the north end of Agen cy Plains has advertised a public sale at his ranch on Wednesday, January 3, 1912. Mrs. Winnie Cubit of Grizzly came down Saturday and is spending a few days visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Craig. A. D. Attorney Bergland and family left for Portland Monday morn ing to spend the holidays with friends and relatives. McMcMeen, a re spected citizen and pioneer resi dent of Crook county, died today in the hospital at Prineville of cancer, after an illness of ten months, during which time he submitted to two operations.
