Dry farmiiig holds a place separate and distinct from irrigation farming, an4 the Trans-Missou ri organization s engaged in pronioting plans for bringing uprler cultivation vast areas of land remote from water pourses and unavailable for irrigation work, Spientilic soil culture and the saving of the moisture which falls in the form of snow jiave demonstrated that there ire great possibilities for dry farming, and the time is coming n the not far distant future when reclamation of lands available for irrigation will iave reached a point where dry farming will become a necessity for those who are no longer fible to secure good locations either naturally or artificially irrigated. $oth Oregon and Washington have much land that will some day be devoted to dry farming, and for that reason the efforts of the Trans Missourians will be apprecia ted.
