A subscription list was circulated here on Saturday for the purpose of raising money enough to have the streets of Mad ras sprinkled .during the next two months. The slightest breeze starts the dust to fly ing, and the merchants of the town have liad aliflkult task in keeping their stock of goods clean, and if the street sprinkler will prevent this it wUI be a. cheap luxuty nt any pi Ice. in addition to the benefit to the merchants, tbe strett sprinkler would be a materjal odditinn to the com fort of evcty resident in towh, Only a few of the business people in town re fused to contribute to the fund,, and it is likely that the sprinkling-car will be in operation by the first of August.
