KING OUT OF DANGER. An official bulletin issued Sunday says the King is now out of danger. He is ctieerf ul and feels much strong er. The King's monster dinner to the Londin poor was given Satur day. Most of the dinners were given at the parks and in small hulls throughout the city. The destitute were nearly all fed, as well as many whose wages are below the living standard. The number fed amounted to half a million, and tho dinner cost in the neighborhood of 430.000. The Prince and Princess of Wales visited the various dinner centers. At Bishops Park 14.0t.i0 were fed, and at Arlington omnibus factory over IOjOOO sat down. The dinner was typical English, consisting of steak aD J kidney pies, veal pies, roast ham, roast beef, potatoes, tarte, cheese beer and lime juice. It Las been ascertained that the President's speech at Pitt6bcrg in reference to the trust question was merely the forerunner of determined efforts by him to have Congress take np that subject and enact definite legislation at its next session for the control or supervision of trusts. Iiecently the President and At torney General KnoxLeld a confer enca with Representative LiftlefieM of Miine, whose knowledge of con stitutional law is admitted, at which Mr. Littlelield was invited to pre pare a bill for the regulation and control of trusts that will go before congress with the endorsement and influence of the President back of it. The bill will be submitted at the be ginning of the next session, but be fore this is done, the President, At torney General Knox and Mr. Little field will have frequent conferences as to details. In addition to this proposed ac tion, the President is going to talk rjpoa the trust question a good deal on the several trips to be made by , him in the Fall. Ho has unnonnced to bis friends that the question is a vital one, aud that he The following from Prof. .1. A. t on- over, of the Kansas Kxiieriuieiital Sta tion, is of much interct to farmers who supply cream to the Host-burg Creamery. At nearly every institute attended by Prof. Cot trel and myself, the .jiiestion was asket: hat is t he reason ot our milk tests lieing "?. jut cent one month and next, tinder exactly the same eondi tions, it tests 4 per cent, or more. 1 hers are a sreat many things that affect the test, i that we cannot ioint to any one thing as doing it. In the first place, the conditions are never "exactly" the same; the pa -t ure jd iv lc In-tter one month than another, the weather may lie cooler or warmer, jerhap ymt eti--ourage the cow less with the milk stool, or tierhaps the I my w In brines them iji does nit get them so much excited. All these t hings Hiid ma-.y inore. intluence the tr cent of butter fat. Kindness is sure to I-e rew ardeil by an increase in Imth the rfT cent of butter fat and also in the yield ; win-never you atuse the cow, either by a sharp nor I, the milk stool, or bv running alter her voit are taking money out o! your own Mn ket by decreasing the jer cent of butter fat and also the yield of milk. Whenever the cow nutters lor lac ot iiki. water or lack of proper care, there is a decrease in the amount received from her. There are other reasons why your test may be lower one month than another When the milk is warm, it churns very easily so that, when you send your milk to the station in cans onlv half full, thev will be partially churned when they get there. There is no wav of getting a fjir sample of such milk, for the butter fat that is churtie. is lo't lxith to the jia iron aria to the creamery man. It von have a can and a hull to send, fill on can full, so that you w ill In; sure to have that much that wi.l not tie churned Jxecp the miik as cool as possible, as it docs not churn so readily at a low tem perature. If you i.o not want low tests, do not take the milk yourself and let i he calf have, the last. The lirst milk often tests as low us one-half of 1 per cent, while the last will test from 10 to 12 i r cent. Don't skim all your milk before you senn 11. to me. station, ami then ex-1 pect it to t .st li er cent. To the cream- eryman I would say, keep all samples of! milk from churning, if possible; goNl tests can never bcobtained from a churn-! ,ed sample without the us of ether, and , this is t, lab lions a process for von. Similar work in te-ting eream from hand separators showed variation in j daily deliveries of 1! to 8 r.-r cent during a test of ten days, and this too without any change in the adjustment of the separator. Variations in the fat con tents of the milk would iptite naturally effect the fat contents' of the cream, and in addition there Would he the variations hie to thu varying s-cl. temperature and rate of inflow. In view of these we should not 1h; too hasty in accusing the creamery ojierator of "juggling the test." About Bees. I'o you want any honey Iroin vourt Ik.i-s?
