Emerson, of Foot’s creek, aged about fourteen years, was accidentally sho’ on the 4th inst. He was handling a loader! rifle at the time the accident occurred, and had just placed it over the fence, preparatory to climbing over himself, when a smaller brother let an axe fall on the hammer, causing it to gooff. The bullet went through the left arm, breaking it near the shoulder, and almost completely shattering the bone.
