The New Jersey politicians hold some weekly rendezvous there, but the Secretary is extending his plan of operations to other states, and to a certain extent directing the canvass in Delaware. In that State Stewart L. Woodford is the leading lUdical card. He does not speak much in his own State this year because a revival of the reminiscences of his participation in the slave trade established by testi mony before a court some years ago has rendered him apprehensive of meeting the fate of Dittenhoeffer, who was driven out of Ohio by the proof of his being an accomplice of the Whisky Ring, and the largest gainer by its operations under the two dollar tax in New York. Dittenhoeffer was ap|>ointed a Judge by Morgan, and it turns out that Morgan, Weod and Sen ator John Sherman of Ohio, were the largest profiters by the scheme which advanced the tax on whisky' $2 a gal lon, and exempted stocks on hand from the operation of the act. Under the $2 tax, the Government was de frauded out of over six hundred mil lions of dollars, which is one of the debts of gratitude due from the coun try to such patriots as Morgan, Seward and John Sherman. F acts to be R emembered .—Who nominated Rutherford B. Ilayes -for j President ? It was Simon Cameron, Don Cam- ■ cmn, Boh Mackey and Bill Kemble I who gave Mr. Hayes the vote of Penn- 1 Mvlvania and rallied around him those j elements of the Republican party whose motto was, «anything to beat Blaine,” Blaine lining disagreeable to , Grant. Who is conducting the canvass and I running the machine to elect Ruther- , ford B. Hayes ? It is Zach. Chandler, Don Cameron, and all that school of machine politicians. If Haves should be elected he would owe his election to those men, as he al ready owes them his nomination. If he were President would he have tho determination and courage to quar rel with the party who made him, and without whom he would never have been nominated and never elected ? If he should engage in such a quarrel, could he succeed in it, and carry through his own purposes against his party. The history of John Tyier and An drew Johnson sheds a dear light upon this problem. Without disgrace and ruin, Mr. Hayes, if elected President, -could never be anything but a repre sentative of Grantlsm; and as such his election would be the continued M ore of it—white washing, we disgrace and the aggravated ruin of mean. TERRIBLE POISON. Among the most siibtlv and virulent of poisons in the human blood is that arising lrom venereal taint, often breaking out, after years of apparent cure, in hideous sores upon various parts of the body Its great danger lies in the fact that it is given to the innocent partner or to the unborn child without showing in the person origi nally contracting it. THE USE OF MERCURY Only aids in this terrible deception by dry ing it upon the surface and driving it back into the blood. All venereal poison is a blood poison and can be communicated in the blood and the only certainty of pre vention ot transmission is in the * positive cures of the reform treatment practiced at the Dr. J.
