The attendance was large for the nature of the Convention (only a few small precincts being unrepre sented) and the proceedings harmoni ous in the utmost. Several persons, who, two years ago, affiliated with the Pizzarinktums, were present as dele gates, and signified their intention of hereafter remaining with the party of principle which is now bringing about the reform so necessary in the affairs of the Nation and in whose success— County, State and National—the fu ture welfare of the Union depends. M., and was called to order by Hon. Henry Klippel, Chairman of the County Committee. Nominations for temporary Chairman be ing in order, Mr. Klippel was elected, and explained the object of the Convention. E. J. After a short absence the Committee re turned and submitted their report, which was received. All the precincts, with the exception of a few small ones, were reported as being represented. On motion, the temporary officers were made the permanent officers of the Conven tion. E. DePeatt was elected Assistant Secretary. Nominations for delegates to the State Convention being in order, several names were proposed. On motion, the delegates were voted for I by ballot. The first ballot resulted in the election of E. DePeatt, Samuel Furry, Thos. F. Beall, i W. J. Plvmale, A. C. Jones, Henry Klippel, Thos. Wright, John O’Brien, as delegates.
