Even if it were a rule binding in honor, it would be hon ored in the breach Wa have no suGrcrestions to make , v v - ij as to the kind of delegates to be se lected for the county conventions.ex cept that they should be the most liberal, honest and intelligent men in their respective communities, and then they will not fail to put men in candidacy who will represent the highest morality and intelligence of our county in the offices for which they shall be chosen. Every voter, at least, should at tend the piimaries. Every voter is responsible to the extent of his bal lot for the corruption in politics now prevalent, and he who shirks the re sponsibility of wielding his ballot should not complain if the public business is mal-administered and scoundrels and imbeciles control the public business ot the country. Mormon Intrigues. Tho Times' Salt Lake correspond an t nrn ffisses to disclose the details of an intrigue under which the Mor mons are arranging to leave Dtah and by shrewd manipulation get con trol of New Mexico and thus steal into the Union under the bill passed for its admission as a State. The correspondence states that the Mor mons have secretly bought up lm mense tracts of land consisting of old Spanish grants at a nominal price. Several Mormon elders have gone there and have been prosely ting the Indians.
