officials report of John A. Joyce, revenue
agent,of his investigation about ayenr ago of
distilleries, rectifying houses and other estab­
lishments on the Pacific coast, giving the
amount of revenue tliereirom. The report is
made to J. W. Douglass, Commissioner of
Internal Revenue. It is not very flattering to
California, Oregon and other places and is
made public mainly to refute recent charges
of the San Francisco papers that on account
of personal attentions paid to Joyce he failed
to do his duty.
