The. plans committee was not able to report as yet, but will be on hand at the corning session next Wednesday evening, when the delegates expect to formulate a decisive plan of action. Mr. Wells thought it might be well t- look into the matter of joint action with the school dis trict, as a matter of economy, but this was opposed on the ground that there might he conflict of authority at times. Bv next week plans will be adopted and given publicity and committees started to work. The delegates all expressed themselves in favor of helping pass the bond issue at the coming city election to bond improve the Shute Park. Mr. Jamison presided and R. L. Tucker officiated as secretary. WELLS PRESIDENT At the meeting of the Hillsboro Club Tuesday evening Chas. F.. Wells was elected President and M. P. Cady vice president. The resignation of E. L. Moore as president was accented. Mr. Moore asked to be relieved fron the office as his duties would keep hint away from Hillsboro for some time. 1 he retiring execu tive has seen the Club have a wonderful trrowth and activity under his administration, and the membership some weeks ago de clined to accept his dictum that he he retired. As important mat ters were under way, and as Mr. Moore asked the second time to be released, his wish was granted. tlie Club voted to endorse tne four per cent, road measure to be voted on May 21, and their ad vertisement appears in this issue. The matter of the Adventist hospital was brought up, and Mr. Peterson will convene with the Portland committee the first of the week.
