In the fall of 1884 I attended school in Hillsboro, Oregon, remaining there until June 1885. Then I spent two vears in the Portland public and high schools. In the fall of 1887 I began teaching in the public schools of Washington countv. and with the exception of one year spent at the Oregon State Normal, I have taught almost continuously in the oublic schools of Oregon, considering this one of the greatest opportunities to do good and impress righteous principles iu the hearts of the youth.
