Says - Wet Weather Haa X Effect oa Mea of His Com-saaad. MEMBERS of Company B, lS!d In fantry, are deeply' appreciative of the medicine chest and other things sent by Company B Auxiliary of Port land, which meets every Tuesday after noon at 3 o'clock at S20 Courthouse. A letter recently received - by Mrs. C. B. Huson. of the auxiliary, from Captain Fred N. West says In part: . "When I arose this (Thanksgiving) morning the thought occurred to me 'what have I to be thankful forT This thought was answered to my complete satisfaction when I gaxed down the long ranks of healthy men. I cannot but realise that It is not alone the per sonnel of the men that has kept this company In such a splendid state of health. Tbe medicine chest which your auxiliary presented to the company is becoming more Indispensable every day. 7 "It seemed to be the chief ambition of tbe climate In this 'neck of the woods' to give the men bad colds, but the medicine chest proved equal to the occasion and I have to report that the element have thus far been deprived of B Company as a victim. I positive ly know-from conversation with other company commanders that we have the medicine chest to thank for this victory over the weather. Jad Salts Is harmless; inexpensive; makes a delightful effervescent lithia water drink which everybody should take now and then to keep their kid neys clean, thus avoiding serious com plications. A well-known local druggist says he sells lots of Jad Salts to folks who believe in overcoming kidney trouble while Jt is only trouble. Adv. An examining physician for one of the prominent Life Insurance Compan ies, in an interview on the subject, made the astonishing statement that one rea son why so many applicants for in surance are rejected is because kidney trouble is so common to the American people, and the large majority of those whose applications are declined do not even suspect that they have the disease. Judging from reports from druggists who are constantly in direct touch with the public there- is one prepara tion that has been .very successful in overcoming these conditions.
