The bankers of Oregon finished their sojourn on Coos Ray with a ball tonight at the. Millicoma clubrooms, where the distinguished visitors were entertained, following the closing of the business sessions and a visit to the ocean beaches. The smoker last night was attended by nearly the entire delegation of guests, and the principal feature of the evening was a burlesque clearing house stunt managed by John D. Goes, C. R. Peck, "W. U. Douglas, and others, of this city. One of the visitors was arrested by a local banker in the club rooms and given a temperance lecture, while a phial of liquor was extracted from his pocket. The man was caused to drink the evidence that It might not be used against him. The business of the session was com pleted shortly after noon today, when the report of the resolutions committee was submitted, and Immediately the lo cal business men's automobiles took the bankers to Mussel Reef and Shore Acres for an afternoon of feasting on sea food and sightseeing. Today many of them saw their first clambake and spent their first hours at the shores of Coos Bay. Rhododendrons In Foil Bloom. The visitors were In season to see the flowering of the rhododendrons and the automobiles returned from the beach laden with blossoms, which will be taken to valley homes by many. The special train which brought the bankers here was taken elsewhere and the delegation will leave tomorrow morning on the Coos Bay Limited, which will have several extra cars at tached. All the guests are being loaded down with Coos Bay literature. There was little opposition to Bend for the next year's convention, and It did not materialize on the convention floor. The delegates from Ashland are boosting for their Round-Tip the early part of July and Medford Is giving them good support. - Coos Bay has prposed an excursion to Ashland and other valley cities at that time, and the boosters will exact a definite promise the journey will be made before they leave.
