It was the annual open paper chase for a stag dinner, the first three to finish to be the guests cf the other riders at the Garden Home club house. William Walter on Mike Wisdom and Georsre Stanley on Ojai furnished one of the real thrills of the afternoon by coming down the home stretch neck and neck. Walter managed to nose his opponen out in the last 10 yards of the run. Third honors went to James Nicol on Edjrewood Girl. The ride was in charge of Sheldon A. Vojkman and the trail was laid by Airs. A. M. Cronin and Mrs. James Nicol over one of the most pic turesque parts of the country around Garden Home. Both the start and the finish was in front of the clubhouse, and this affords the larpe grallery an opportunity to witness the sensational spurts of the various riders. A total of 41 men riders were on hand and 22 of them rode through. Immediately after the open chase, 31 women members of the Portland Hunt Club and their sruests were entertained at tea by the men rider3 who partici pated in the chase. The stag dinner wa3 largely at tended. Because of the enthusiasm shown at the last women's open paper chase of the Portland Hunt Club, Harry M.
