The recent snow and cold weather has caught farmers of Eastern Wash ington unprepared, the severity of the wave being unusual for this time of year. Fall plowing has been delayed on account of dry weather, farmers waiting for rain. As a result the crop next year will be light, unless open weather follows. The small amount of Summer-fallow will be another factor In keeping the acreage of the next crop below nor mal. Many farmers wer seeding when the storm came and had seed wheat on hand treated for smut, which they are feeding to hogs. Many potatoes are not dur. The moisture was needed, however, and Winter wheat now sprouted will be benefited. EFFICIENCY IS SOUGHT M'MINNVILLE CHURCHES PROVIDE FOR CLOSER RELATIONSHIP.
