Visit the Style Salons View the Modish Attire Both the best manufacturing modistes in this country and the leading style makers in Europe have been drawn upon for the matchless .garments that comprise the assortment gathered for this exposition. The most clever creations the season has brought forth are ex hibited in generous array and we issue a cordial invi tation to women of discriminating taste to call and ad mire these triumphs of the garment maker's art. We call attention to six garments out of several hundred: EVENING COAT (see illustra tion), of Pom-pad our cretonne; lined -with plain color Rajah silk. Trimmings are black velvet and white braid,, in vest effect; sleeves are finished with side pleats. EMPIRE CALLING- DRESS, of imported pongee; guimpe trimmed with braid : an allover braided coat finished with acorn pendants. An exceedingly rich costume, suitable for afternoon or evening wear. EMPIRE COSTUME, in ciel blue chiffon, trimmed with real Irish crocheted lace (see - illustration). Coat of baby Irish lace,, with back panel and edges of duchess satin. CALLING GOWN, Empire Prin cess st3'le (see illustration) ; made of chanrpagne-eolored voile, and trimmed with lace of same shade and black bows. "Sleeves and yoke of rich net. AFTERNOON GOWN of white broadcloth in Empire style (see illustration). A marvel of clever handiwork, in soutache braid ; gir dle of cloth of gold. Surmounted with aigrette of the same color as trimT miug. Designed by Caroline Re bour, Paris. RIBBONS The Japanese 'f 1 fects are the lat- 4 est novelties in ribbons. Some of these have scrim edges. Sash rib bons will be much used this Spring and Summer, one lovely design be ing large polka dots of self shade. There are also moire ribbons in rich colorings, these have scrim edges. New plaids are shown. An im portant Spring fad is to have sash and hair ribbons match. Fashionable Spring Footwear Abundance We illustrate two of the new Colonial styles in women's Shoes. We have just received, in. addition to our already large showing of Spring footwear, eleven, new shapes of tan Oxfords. These are the most beautiful and sensible footwear styles that Spring has bronght forth. They are in dark brown suede, with cov ered Cuban heels or tan Russia calf. The two-button Oxford, which is a great favorite this Spring, is very prominent among them. Another well-liked style is the "Garden Tie" a low-cut pump, finished with leather bow; this positively does not slip at the heel. One whi;h will appeal to conservative people is a dark brown kid blucher with a medium heel and hand-turn sole. For those who wish more pronounced styles, we have a tan Russia calf Oxford with a high Cuban heel. We have these in widths as narrow as AAAA and in all sizes. Women seeking the best to be had in foot wear styles and the most for their money will inevitably come here to shop. New Neckwear --Gloves Laces Embroideries The Neckwear Counter will make a special showing during Opening Days of this Spring's choic est novelties. These include embroidered Windsor Ties, fluffy Lace Jabots, embroidered Jabots with colored borders, Merry Widow Bows, Chemisettes in lace or embroidery. NEW LACES We are showing a profusion of the embroidered filet net, which leads all other patterns for trimming this year's smartest garments. These are in white or ecru, and a large variety of designs, one decidedly new pattern being a filet mesh lace embroidered in soutache braid, set of band and allover, in ecru, black or white. EMBROIDERIES With white backgrounds, and the 'designs done in colors, are much in demand. We have these in entire sets insertions, allovers and edges to match." The colors are absolutely fast and wash perfectly. Baby Irish designs on sheer batiste are much used.
