Play Tackles Race and Adoption Clackamas Repertory Theatre presents “The Call,” a play about a white American couple who de- cides to adopt a baby from Africa. Their friends (a black lesbian cou- ple) are all for it, vowing to help adapt the child to the American way of life. Initially the gesture seems compassionate, but as the con- cept becomes closer to reality, the questions and concerns it raises stir in a mix of racial and domestic tensions and anxieties as these two widely different worlds collide. 3HUIRUPDQFHV DUH 6DWXUGD\ 0DUFK D SP DQG 6XQGD\ 0DUFK DW SP LQ WKH 2VWHU- man Theatre at Clackamas Com- munity College in Oregon City.
