There will be trick-or-treating from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., a Wizard of Oz meet-and-great with Gilda the Good Witch and her friends from 1 pm. to 3 p.m.; D YI trick-or-treat bag craft making and an outdoor scavenger hunt. Free with museum admission. Ambition, Loyalty and the Glitter of Motown - The beloved Motown- inspired hit Dreamgirls at the Gerding Theater at the Armory. Based loosely based on the career of The Supremes, Dreamgirls takes you to a revolutionary time in American music h isto ry w here three friends form The Dreamettes and learn hard lessons about love, trust and the changing tastes of the American public. Costume Party at Reo’s Ribs — Beats4books, Pangjia and Reo’s Ribs hosts an all-ages costume party with live rock, rap and country perfor mances from local youth and professional groups, on Halloween, Friday, Oct. 31 starting at 6 p.m. Reo’s Ribs is located at 11140 S.E. Powell Blvd. A fundraiser for youth bands that stay in school and do their work, at-the- door tickets are $15 for youth and $20 for adults. Family Halloween Fest - Warner Pacific College hosts its annual free Fall Family Festival on Thursday, Oct. 30. Events begin at 6 p.m. Families are encouraged to come with their kids in costume so that they can trick-or- treat in a safe environment. Festivities will include games, face painting, a picture booth, costume contest, live music, a haunted house, refresh ments, and plenty of Halloween candy. Norman Sylvester — Boogie Cat Norman Sylvester and his band perform Friday, Oct. 31 for a Halloween Party at the Lodge; Friday, Nov. 7 at Jimmy M ak’s; and Saturday, Nov. 8 at the Spare Room. ‘The Piano Lesson’ Extended Again - Portland Playhouse presents “The Piano Lesson” an August Wilson play reflect ing the African-American experience, cov ering questions of legacy and reminders of painful family pasts.
