Alberta St., presents its annual “Little Things” show for the holidays. The exhibit opens with two artists receptions, on Black Friday, Nov. 23, and on Last Thursday, Nov. 29, from 6 p.m.to 9 p.m. both days. This is the 12th year of the ever-popular December show. Now a tradition, Donna Guardino says it’s hard to remember a holiday season at the gallery without it. The concept is 45 artists were given the assignment of creating “little” artwork. No restrictions, as long it was 7 inches by 7 inches or under, including frame and stands. The show is geared to holiday sales from local artists. Hosted by Alberta Main Street, the tour kicks off on Friday, Nov. 23 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Festivities will continue through December, including a tree lighting ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 4:30 p.m. in the courtyard at 18th and Alberta. Holiday Events in Vancouver L egal N otices The holiday season kicks off in Vancouver with a Thanksgiving weekend full of activities. Start Thanksgiving Day with the 2012 Turkey Trot at 9 a.m. Thurs day, Nov. 22, at Klineline Pond. The race has both a 5k walk/run and 10k run, and will include a polar bear plunge at 10 a.m. The V ancouver R o ta ry Foundation’s annual Festival of Trees will begin Friday, Nov. 23 and c o n tin u e all w eekend at Pearson»Air Museum. Profession ally decorated trees will be placed around vintage planes in the m u seum.
