Food Bank Drive Brings Amazing Results
Letter carriers
collect 1.3
million pounds
in just one day
In ju s t one day, the L etter C arri­
ers Food D rive collected 1.3 m illion
pounds o f nonperishable food in
O regon and C lark C ounty, the O r­
egon F ood B ank announced last
w eek. In addition, the drive raised
$74,459.
"W hat our letter carriers do on
this one day is am azing," said R achel
B ristol, O regon Food B ank ex ecu ­
tive. "This is truly a com m unity e f­
fort involving thousands o f v o lu n ­
teers w ho unload trucks at every
post office, box the food and load it
onto donated sem is for delivery to
the R egional Food B anks and food
pantries.

A com m unity O pen H ouse takes
place W ednesday, June 6, from 4:30
to 6:30 pm. T he cen ter is located in
M edical O ffice B uilding 3, Suite 100
on the M ount H ood M edical C enter
C am pus at 24988 S.E. Stark Street.

is part o f o u r ongoing com m itm en t
to offer essential health care ser­
vices for people in o u r c o m m u n ity ,"
said G retchen N ichols, c h ie f adm in­
istrative o fficer for L egacy M ount
H ood M edical C enter.
T he 2,000 sq. ft. B reast H ealth
and Im aging C enter is designed as
a calm and w elcom ing healing en v i­
ro n m e n t th a t s u p p o rts w o m e n
th ro u g h th e ir jo u rn e y o f breath
health care.
