"I feel like he definitely is an inspiration to me to keep doing what I'm doing, to keep learning," W ill iam s said. Students shrieked and cheered w hen R obinson appeared onstage, and the enthusiasm didn't die dow n w hen he lectured them to m ake sure they didn't neglect their oth er stud ies for their art or give in to peer pressure. R obinson said he grew up in a house o f 11 kids and w as raised by his sister after his m other died. Som e o f his close friends w ere "gang sters," he said.
