That's the magic of the 2011 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, Friday, July 1 to Monday, July 4. The 24th annual event presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union brings more than 125 stellar perfor mances on five stages plus fire works, workshops, dances, blues cruises and more. The festival is also Oregon Food Bank's largest annual fundraiser. One-hundred percent of donations support Oregon Food Bank's mis sion to eliminate hunger and its root causes. This year s festival includes Lucinda W illiam s On Monday, July 4th there will be a spectacular display of fireworks, the largest display in Oregon. The fireworks Show starts at 10 p.m., M amou Playboys, Chris C ain, Nathan James, James Harman, Bruce Conte, Preston Shannon, Grady C h am p io n , A rsen S hom ak o v , Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble, Mom Harris Restaurant Grand Opening after the evening's final performance and the National Anthem, performed by Linda Hombuckle. Admission to the 2011 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, includ ing the fireworks show, is a dona tion of $ 10 (or more) plus two cans (or more) of nonperishable food. The powerhouse roster includes six-time Grammy Award winner Buddy Guy, Maceo Parker, Robert Cray, Lucinda Williams, Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, Orgone, Bobby Radcliff, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, the Honey Island Swamp Band, Steve Riley and the C o m e See The Twangshifters will open the first summer concert of the season at Mt. Tabor Park on Tuesday, July 5 and concerts will continue through a performance by The Midnight Serenaders at east Portland's Ventura Park on Aug. 31.
