W ritten and directed by East Coast playwright Lenelle N. Moise, the play gives w om en the opportu nity to share and connect w ith their past experiences and each other via the theater. "C ornered in the D ark" contin ues its Portland run, T hursday, Nov. 18 through Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Firehouse Theater, 1436 S. W. M ontgom ery, with 8 p.m. perfor mances. Tickets for Friday and Saturday shows are $15, with a sliding scale on Thursday. A talk back opportu nity with the actors and director also follow s the T hursday show. The play m arries the visceral spoken-word with meditative move m en t. F o u r w o m en m e et in a dream to w eave th e ir in d iv id u al stories o f patriarchal betrayal intoa bold tapestry o f solidarity and re sistance. Utilizing intense movement, var ied vocalization, articulate poetic language and exceptional acting, this piece provokes the audience to deep em otional unification with sexual assault in its m any forms.
