Yet one yoga instructor, known as a teacher’s teacher, sees the practice as having much greater benefits than simply toning the abs. “Yoga lends itself to anyone,” said Ravi Singh, who has studied the ancient art for 27 years. “A lot of people dealing with any chal lenges in life find yoga gets to the core of issues they are dealing with." According to Singh, breathing in a conscious way taps into re pressed pain and memories, allow ing people to deal with their prob lems and work past them. Singh and Brett recently visited the Multnomah Athletic Club in southwest Portland to teach three workshops and promote a series of books and videos called "Fat Free Yoga." Singh reaches audiences with practical lessons promising youth ful bodies, long life and good health.
