Jefferson High School basketball star Brittney Davis will continue her athletic and academic career at the University o f Minnesota. Jefferson High School girls’ basketball star Brittney Davis has selected the University of M innesota to continue her academic and athletic career. Although Davis was recruited by major univer sities across the nation and considered the Uni versity o f Southern California, the University of California at Berkeley and the University o f Las Vegas, her decision came down to support from other athletes. Davis said, "1 chose to attend the University of Minnesota because of the support of the coaching staff and the players on the team. I really got along with them all.” A ccording to Jefferson A thletic D irector Marshall Haskins, Davis has achieved both aca demic and athletic honors qualifying her for the NCAA scholarship. Davis has a 3.7 grade point average in her college level classes, is a two-time P1L Player of the Year, a three time All League player, averages 20 points per game and by the time she completes this year's basketball season, she will be a four-year letter winner. Among her many honors, Davis is a McDonald All American nominee. Additionally, she was se lected to participate in the Adidas Top Ten All American Camp. Emmanuel Ofoso Yeboah, 26, was awarded Nike’s Casey Martin Award for completing the 610-kilometer ride with a short femur and dislocated right knee, preventing him from standing.
