Aaron M ichael H am m er, 24, was booked for investigation o f m urder late Sunday and ja ile d w ithout bail. S h e riffs deputies said he had ties to a gang but was not a m em ber. Yetunde Price, 31, w as shot in the chest early Sunday about a m ile from the tennis courts w here her younger sisters first rose to prom inence in this gang- and violence-plagued city o ut side Los Angeles. The motive for the slaying remained under investigation. As many as four other possible suspects were being sought. Deputy Richard Pena said. Price was killed by a gunman stand ing in front o f a house that was known to attract gang m em bers and where drugs have been sold in the past, authorities said. “At this point we ju s t d o n ’t know if this is gang or n arcotics," said s h e riff s Lt. Daniel R osenberg, a ho m icide detective. “ 1 can tell you there are certain indications to suggest this location has involved either gangs or drugs. Undefeated Vikings Open at Home The Portland State Vikings open the Big Sky Conference play Saturday at PGE Park when they host the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks. D epu ties did not disclose why he was on parole. An assault rifle was found at the scene, and neighbors reported hear ing six to 20 gunshots. Price, one o f five sisters who spent th eir early years in C om pton, w as a registered nurse who ow ned a beauty salon. She also served as a personal assistant to her fam ous half-sisters, w ho m oved to Florida w ith their p ar ents when they turned pro as teenag ers. Price w as divorced and had three children, ages 5 ,9 and 11. She lived in Corona, 40 m iles from Com pton.
