In the hit m ovie, a T V new sm an played by Jim C arrey is endow ed by G od w ith divine pow ers, allow ing him to perform such feats as parting a bow l o f tom ato soup like the Red Sea. U sually, m ovies and TV show s use the telephone exchange 555, w hich is not used for hom es and businesses. But “ Bruce A l m ighty” used a seven-digit n u m b er valid in m any parts o f the country. M any m oviegoers have rem em bered the num ber and put it to w ork in th eir ow n area codes. A w om an in Pinellas Park, Fla., has threat ened to sue the m ovie studio because o f the 20 calls per h o u r clogging h er cell phone. (AP Photo) C k u r c k O alem d a r Support Group for Priest Abuse Victims The Archdiocese o f Portland is sponsoring a free 10- week support group for people who were sexually abused as minors by a Catholic priest. The sessions will begin on Sept. 10 and will be led by Dr. Jonathon Beamer, a board certified psychiatrist in private practice who has exten sive experience in both post-traumatic stress disorder and working with people who have been abused. (¿ b b itu a ry Warren G. Black Sr. Warren G. Black Sr. died May 27 at age 81. He was bom July 9 ,1921, in Ada,Okla. She decided to return to her roots in the church. "I picked up my dream s and my goals and I started being blessed with m usic,” W alker said. W alker divides her tim e betw een her m usic and planning for the Juneteenth event at Fern Hill Park on June 20 through June 22. W orking as co-chair o f en ter tainm ent for Juneteenth N orthw est last year. W alker decided to branch o ff to give the com m unity a variety o fe v en ts to celebrate the ending o f slavery. “ I d o n ’t feel that P ortland has enough know ledge about the day o f freedom ,” said W alker.
