Design and construction supervision of new and rehabilitated bu ild in gs fo r in d u stria l a nd /or com m ercial uses including excavation and site preparation; sewage treatm ent facilities; transportation facilities for ship, road, and railroad including intermodal connections; and warehouses. Metro is soliciting new bids for construction of a maintenance facility for the St. Johns Landfill located in the vicinity of 9387 N. Columbia Blvd., Portland, Oregon 97203. Sealed bids must be delivered to Metro, Regional Environmental Management Department (REM), 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97232 to the attention of Pete Hillmann, Project Manager, no later than 11:00 am PST. on December3 ,2 0 0 2 At that time, the Bids will be opened and publicly read aloud in Conference Room 270 located in the Metro Regional Center. 2. Planning. Preparation of plans and/or studies concerning the development of marine export/import terminals, industrial parks, bulk material and roro export/im port facilities. This includes consideration of various transportation modes including deep water shipping. Study and investigation of ground conditions at various industrial sites to determ ine the desirability and acceptability for facility construction including ground water and soil contamination issues. A Pre-Bid Conference for prospective Bidders will be conducted in Room 370B located at Metro Regional Center, Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, November 1 9 ,2 0 0 2 at 10:00a.m . Investigation, design, and supervision of: expansion of pedestrian/ b icycle p a th w a ys, in te rp re tive ce n te rs, and bo a rdw a lks; restaurants, and, construction of additional facilities associated with a small boat marina, including additional docking. 6. Hydraulic/Marine. Hydraulic investigations of the Columbia River; study, investigation, and design of facilities related to river projects including but not limited to riprap, construction of docks and wharfs, pilings, ramps, and tie-up and anchorage facilities; evaluation and development of long-term plans for dredge disposal. 7. Environmental. Evaluation, design, preparation, and execution of studies and construction of projects relating to environmental issues including sediment quality, water quality, wetlands, wildlife habitat, and other issues affecting port development. 8. Surveying/Civil. Investigation and preparation of maps, aerial photographs, plat plans, and other work to facilitate the orderly development of the Port.
