She was bom June 9,1911, in Portland. She graduated from Commerce High School and was a clerk at Olds, W ortman and Kings Department Store. In 1930 she married Edward A. Watson; he died in 1996. Mr. Barabin was bom Aug. 15,1931. in Weeks Island near New Iberia, La. He moved to Portland in the 1950s and was a painter and construction worker in the shipyards. In 1951, he married Emily Thomas; she died in 1987. Survivors include his sons, Steven, Mark, Jeffrey and Eric; and brothers, Leroy, John, Joe and Larry. Mamie Lee Johnson A funeral service was held on Friday, March 22,2002 at the Rose City Cemetary and Funeral Home in Portland for Mamie Lee Johnson, who died March 16 at the age of 92. Johnson was bom on Jan. 29,1910 in Vance, Miss, and later moved to Portland. She worked as a Nurses Aide at the Multnomah County Hospital and served on the Missionary Board of the Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church. Survivors include herdaughter, Margie Grant; foster daughter, Ermagene Reed; brother, OseeGallion; sisters, Bettie Robinson. Rowena Blish; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Irene Washington We thank those families who have patronized our business. 1 Funeral services were held on Monday, March 4 at the Greater Solid Rock Church of God in Christ for Irene Washington, who died Feb. 25 at the age of 58. Mrs. Washington was raised and educated in San Antonio and in Buffalo, New York. She married Delbert W ashington in 1966 and later moved to Portland from Houston in 1989. She had been a bank accountant and most recently was a Foster Mother for the Sate of Oregon for the last 8 or 9 years. Survivors include her husband; son, Sean Washington; brothers, Oscar Brooks, Webb Lewis, John Lewis, Adolph Lewis, Asbery Lewis, Jr., Christor Lewis, Elmer Lewis; sisters, Ruthie Perdue, Clarice Anderson, Charlotte Rogers.
