The Shona people have played the mbira for more than 1,000 years for many special occasions. Hundreds o f songs are passed from generation to generation. Northwest Tibetan Association Tears of Joy Theatre Tear o f Joy Theatre presents “ Beanstalk!” This is a play performed with whimsical marionettes and giant masks. “Beanstalk!” is stuffed with deliciously repulsive one-eyed giants, a golden egg-laying hen, an always-full supper-pot, and a golden harp to soothe the soul.
