A Classical Comedy on Morals Family life gets turned upside down when a deceitful man pays a visit in “Tartuffe.” “Tartuffe: The Visitor” tells the story of a household turned up side down by a pious visitor who demands moral obedience from his host family - all the while con ducting himself in quite a different manner. The story o f virtue, ven geance and fanaticism is by turns hilarious, startling and disturb ing as one fam ily reckons with its ow n re s p o n s e s to th e ir visito r’s influence. This style-hopping adaptation of M olière’s great comedy by the Sojourn Company explores the French tale in the context of a world facing global conflict-w hat are the responses we find in our own house? Faith and righteous ness become entangled in a battle between the play’s plot and the emotions of the present moment as Sojourn artists offer an evening of dizzying surprises, choreo graphed collisions and challeng ing perspectives.
