But he said he did not anticipate needing it. T he governor planned to visit O regon com pa nies operating in the tw o countries and to attend trade shows. In som e w ays, he said, his trip is sym bolic, sending the m essage that O regon w ould continue to do business. K itzhaber said that although re-establishing direct com m ercial flights betw een Portland and A sia rem ains a priority, he does n ot have talks w ith A sian airlines scheduled during the trip.
