SEPTEMBER EVENTS Trailblazers Sign Chris Dudley (A P) — T he Portland T rail Blazers signed free agent center C hris D udley to a one-year contract Friday. D udley, a 14-year veteran w ho spent four seasons with the Blazers, from 1993-97, played for Phoenix last season. He averaged 1.4 points and 3,5 rebounds in 53 gam es. He started 33 games. T he 6 -fo o t-11 player w as traded to N ew Jersey in July as part o f a trade that sent Jason Kidd from the Suns to the N ets for Stephon M arbury. But the Nets d id n ’t re-sign D udley.
