The $850.000 grant w ill fund four more years o f activity focusing on the disparities in prenatal health among African American and Hispanic w omen in Northeast Portland Healthy Birth Initiative II builds on the best practices and success o f Multnomah County's original Healthy Start Initiative Project, which began in 1997 and focused on reducing infant mortality.
