River Patrol-Oregon’s largest county marine patrol provides law enforcement, emergency assistance,boater/water safety and education, and fire fighting on 95 miles o f county waterways. A Dive Rescue Team is available for river acci dent response, swift-water response, and evidence collection. C rim in a l In vestigations-D etec- tives w ork in various units and on m ulti-agency team s w ith officers from Gresham , Troutdale, Fairview, and other police jurisdictions to in- vestigate m ajor crim es throughout M ultnom ah county; shut dow n nar cotics operations, vice (prostitution) and related activities; enforce dis posal o f solid w aste incom pliance with M etro ordinances and investi gate illegal dum psites throughout M ultnom ah, C lackam as, and W ash ington counties; investigate violent crim es including dom estic violence, assaults, sex offenses and homicides; conduct crim inal investigations in volving high technology; and inves tigate and prosecute reported cases o f physical and sexual child abuse in M ultnom ah County. C ivil P ro cess S ervice-T his unit is responsible for the service and enforcem ent o f court orders through out M ultnom ah County. Enforce m ent deputies in this unit also per form extraditions o f crim inals form other jurisdictions to Oregon.
