Latina Superstar Rounds Out State Fair Concert Lineup Ana Barbara, who played to a packed house at the LB Day Amphitheatre last year, is return ing for an encore performance. The singer is well-known and very prominent in her native Mexico and with Latino audiences around the world. She will perform at the Oregon State Fair Sunday, Septem ber 6, 1998. Tickets went on sale Friday, July 24th and are available at Fred Meyer La Recompensa de Amor (The Reward of Love) Fastixx outlets and Music Millen nium. La Navaja (The Knife) On August 6th, Art o f the People will proudly unveil the newest artist, Maximiliano Pruneda in a show titled Madness and the Soul. This body of over twenty pieces is composed primarily of acrylic on masonite painting, though ink and wash drawing, mixed media sculpture and monotypes are included. As always, Max Pruneda's art is imbued with a profound sense of the unseen, the mystical and the world o f spirits. Yet, this new body of work is a clear departure from Max's earlier styles. A finished quality pervades and at times provokes the thought that, rather than a disconnected and unrelated direction, these works are both the culmination of the artist's previous period and the inspiration of the next one.
