The Black Women’s Gathering is on Sunday, May 9th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at King School, 4906 NE 6th. Guest speaker is Debrena Jackson Gandy, author of “Sacred Pampering Principals: An African American Women’s Guide To Self Care and In- nerRenewal.’’ Ms. Jackson-Gandy has addressed organizations such as Black Women’s Network, Washington State U niversity’s African American Women’s Conference and the Annual Sister for Sister Conference. In 1998, she will co-moderate a forum for the African American Women on Tour Conference in four cities. Excerpts from her book have appeared in Es senceand I oday’s Black Women maga zines, and features have appeared in Upscale, Ebony, and Heart and Soul magazines. Her book has appeared on two best-seller lists for African Ameri can hardback non-fiction.
