M ichael T aylo r, a professor o f art at Lewis and C la rk College, gave a slide presentation of A frican A rt and brought num erous pieces from his collection o f carved wood items, bowls, chaiis, head rests and examples o f beadwork from areas o f A fr ic a where he and his w ife S tep h an ie have liv e d . The Puget Sound W omen's Missionary Society has co n tribu ted funds for several years to church w ork in C e n tra l A fr ic a . Leslie W hite from W ichita, Kansas. C M E pastors have to have their p asto r ship co n ferred on a yearly basis. W hich, usually, but not necessaryily always, means being reappointed to the same church. I accepted the call to preach in 1949, but I have been a pastor for 25 years.” Rev. Edwards’ pastorship began in C alifo rn ia, but for the past nine years, he has been assigned to the Alaska Pacific C o n ference. Seven o f those years were in Seattle, W ashington, and the past two have been in Portland. W hile the conference is in session, d a ily w orsh ip services w ill be at noon and again at 7 :3 0 p .m ., evenings. Rev. Edwards added that the public is invited to attend the worship services and any and all o f the business sessions, to o. C o -h o s t, Rev.
