Page 8 Portland Observer, August 24, 1963 Happenings L o ve's L ab o u r's Lost This summer the Portland Actors Ensemble presents W illiam Shake speare’s neglected comedy, "L o v e ’s Labour's L o s t," directed by Keith Scales, in parks in and around Portland. "Love's Labour's Lost” is a courtly comedy o f romance and wit. Four young lords lake vows to fo r swear the company o f women and spend their lives in study; 'til four beau tiful ladies from France come to pay a visit. . . . Masques, dances, music, a host of colorful pedants, braggarts and rustics, and a play-wilhin-a-play fill out the themes of love and deceit in a delight fully comic entertainment that builds to a gently ironic Finale. “ Love’s Labour’s Lost" will play this weekend at Washington Park (Northwest o f fountain) on Saturday, August 27th and Sunday, August 28th, both days at 3 p.m. Fresh In c . The bus will start from the Northeast 17th and Multnom ah parking lot near the Lloyd Center at 9 a.m ., returning at 5 p.m. Riders will be able to pick and choose what they see and do at the fair. "T h e reunion was an event I shall remember the remaining years of my life. Although it is over, it seems like a mythical dream and I am con stantly asking myself, 'W hy me?," Ford told the Observer. "These were very fine students in so many ways which, I am sure, ac counts for my success as one of their teachers." The committee really worked hard to present the reunion and it was very successful. Ford said. He wishes to thank all of those who honored him.
