Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Place in small individual bak ing dish. For topping: Combine dry ingre dients; mix well. Add butter; mix u ntil crum bly. Sprinkle over fru it mixture. Bake about 20 minutes or until apples are tender and topping is golden brown. Makes I serving. Note: Recipe may easily be doub led to make 2 servings. Mircowave Oven D irections: Prepare I serving as recipe directs. Cook at HIG H 4'4 to 5'4 minutes, rotating dish *4 turn after 3 minutes o f cookinR. CO MPA NY KA ROHS Sweet *n’ Sour Sauce (sec below, I !4 lb. ground beef •4 cup oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) I egg. beaten I teaspoon salt '4 teaspoon pepper I clove garlic, minced 18 pineapple chunks reserved from canned pineapple I green pepper, cut into I-inch chunks 6 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces 12 medium mushrooms Prepare Sweet 'n Sour Sauce; set aside. Heal oven to 35O*F. Combine ground beef, oats, egg, salt, pepper and garlic; mix well. Shape meat mixture around pineapple chunks to make 18 meatballs. Alternate green pepper, meatballs, green onion and mushrooms on six 12 to 14-inch skewers. (To be sure meatball stays on skewers, thread through pineap ple in center.) Place kabobs on rack in shallow roasting pan. Bake about 20 minutes. Brush with Sweet 'n Sour Sauce; continue baking 10 minutes or u ntil desired doneness. Serve over rice with additional Delight family and gueata with aasy-to m ake sweat and sour kabobs. They look great, taste delicious, and tha meatballs have a surprisa cantar. Set aside pineapple chunks for Company Kabobs. In small sauce pan, combine pineapple juice and cornstarch; mix well. Add remain ing ingredients. Bring to a boil. Re duce heat. Simmer, stirrin g fre quently, until thickened and clear. Makes about I cup. G IA N TO A TMEAL COOKIES I ‘4 cups all-purpose flour !4 teaspoon soda !4 teaspoon salt 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar ’4 cup butter or margarine 2 eggs I teaspoon vanilla 2*4 cups oats (quick or old fashioned, uncooked) Qne6-oz. pkg. (I cup)semi-sweet chocolate pieces *4 cup chopped nuts Heat oven to 35O*F. Grease 2 large cookie sheets. In small howl, combine flo u r, soda and salt, mix well. In large bowl, bca» together sugar and butter until light and flu f fy; blend in eggs and vanilla Add flour mixture; mix well. Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts. Divide dough in half. Spread each half to ’4-inch thickness on prepared cook ie sheets. Bake 17 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned. Decorate with candles, if desired. Makes two 11- inch cookies. Variation: Drop dough by round ed tablespoonsuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 to 12 m in utes. Makes about 3 dozen 2'4-inch cookies.
