L ittle League, the oldest youth sport organization in the country, is alive and well and even though the problems often make the headlines, these are outweighed by a mile by the positives experienced every day and every Saturday at the city park from April through August. These players are a long way from the local city park but that is where it all started. It starts all over every spring and the Portland area is no exception. 13,000 little leaguers, boys and girls, have taken to the fields in the Portland m etropolitan area.
