Especially F o u r Seasons Dodge out on 23th and Sandy. Its owner, Dan Pistorese, says, ‘ ‘ W e’re holding o ur own. In the last four years, percentage-wise we’re outsell ing Ford and Chevy.” Pistorese is a native O regonian who has been in the car dealership business for years. ‘ ‘ You know we build some o f the finest units in the w o rld . H ere we have the largest wholesale parts department in the N o rth w est. W e also have the best service d ep artm en t w ith many o f our mechanics who have been on board for nearly 30 years. The A m erican car m akers have had their share o f problems. “ The Japanese can manufacturer a car for a lot less because they pay their workers a smaller wage. O u r fac tories had their way until the com petitors came on full force. But it was our ingenuity and money that pu, them in business.” Pistorese says that we are so benevolent to other countries we may need to turn that around and help ourselves. “ The flip side o f imports is that they cost more to repair.
