Stewart, a 198J grad uate o f W ashington-M onroe High School, is the recipient o f the first annual C lif fo r d J. C a m p b e ll, Jr. Vocational Education Scholarship. The three-hundred d ollar scholar ship was established in O ctober o f 1980 by C lifford J. Campbell, Jr., a Portland life insurance and invest ment diam o n d b ro k e r. Each year the scholarship will be awarded to a g rad u atin g senior who desires to co ntin u e his education in a voca tional area. W h ile high grades arc im p o rta n t, they do not determ ine who w ill win this scholarship each year. The counselors are available to help the students select proper courses and prepare fo r arena scheduling. The course emphasizes coordination and conditioning ol mind and body as a basis for defense against holds, locks and grabs. Training is provided in throws. Hips, falls and other techniques.
